Creative Writing Challenge

Day 1 —Select a book at random in the room.  Find a novel or short story, copy down the last sentence and use this line as the first line of your new story.

I’ve got a lot to learn. 

Gabrielle looked out from the darkness of the cave. The night was black; the storm fearsome. The clouds rolled across the sky drumming a loud noise that ended in claps of thunder and lighting. 

She shivered under her makeshift blanket. The sacks were coarse and filthy but at least they offered her some warmth. She had been so unprepared. That much was obvious, after all, look at her now.  

She was forced to seek shelter in a cave in the middle of nowhere with nothing but an empty sack for comfort. She had no food, no supplies, not even a horse to keep her company. What could be worse than travelling on foot deep in the uncivilized forests of England’s north?
